This is a major story that should be getting more attention than it is. I’ve been watching the Today Show for an hour now and nothing has been said about it. I know Today is not America’s #1 source for breaking news, but such a story involving two innocents put in the middle of a political standoff should carry the morning’s headline and discussion- not national BFF day, the $232 million lottery winner, or Susan Boyle’s breakdown. I’m disappointed.

There are lots of situations, such as the one you describe here where people begin to believe one thing, like when they’re small children, and then they never let it go. They believe “There’s someone for everybody” or that they’re going to get married, or that when they DO get married, it’s going to last until they die.
Other concepts, like Santa Claus & The Easter Bunny eventually dissipate. It’s like people agree that at some point, you stop believing in certain fantasies because they were only told to you as a child for a reason, such as to make you “act good” so that Santa will bring you toys…

“ Social Media has afforded us all the opportunity to expand our spheres of influence. I have friends I talk to on a regular basis from Germany, England, Hawaii, Canada, Israel and coast to coast across the United States. That’s all lovely, but if you don’t manage your online relationships properly, you make yourself beholding to the sites that you use to interact with your friends scattered all over the planet.
